Hi, I’m Jennifer Richards and I am almost at the completion of a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Cultural Studies and Writing with a distinction average. From school age through to tertiary and vocational levels, the smile on the face of a student when they realise that, with a little encouragement and assistance they can achieve whatever educational goals they want, is what drives me to provide compassionate and quality tutoring. I have always had a passion for helping people and have been fortunate to experience quality education. I love sharing my passion to enable students of any age or background to realise their own full educational potential. I have worked with ESL students via Tafe NSW and Indigenous Australian students via the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) and provide a culturally appropriate approach to tutoring for all backgrounds and ages.

I’m Elize Strydom and I live in Byron Bay. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in 2005 and then began working as a radio journalist and freelance photographer. I worked with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for eight years, writing and reading national news. In 2017, I decided to make a career change and began working as an educator with a primary school before and after school care organisation in Sydney. I’m now studying a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at Southern Cross University and English is my Key Learning Area. In my work as a documentary photographer, I’ve travelled extensively and learnt a lot about the fascinating world we live in. I want to share my knowledge and experience, as well as my passion for ideas and information, with people of all ages. As a tutor, I take the time to get to know students and how they learn before applying evidence-based teaching strategies to help them make positive learning gains and achieve their goals. I’m committed to giving students the opportunity to grow and learn in a safe, fun and supportive environment.
During my HSC I was a volunteer peer tutor and I loved helping other students find new methods to improve the quality of their learning. I strongly believe every student has the potential to learn and improve as long as they are provided with encouragement and the tools needed to better their education. I am currently studying Animation at Griffith University and have a 6.4 GPA. During high school, I studied a range of subjects including Mathematics, English, Studies of Religion, Visual Arts, Ancient History, Geography, French Beginners and was ranked in the top 10 for all my junior classes.
As a current student, I understand the stress that can be brought on by assessments. This insight allows me to teach students in a way that aims to alleviate some of this anxiety. I would love the opportunity to help any student find enjoyment in their education and work with them towards improving their learning experience and overall understanding of the syllabus.

My name is Rennie and I live in Byron Bay. I am 21 years old and am in my second year of university, studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science part-time. I’d love to tutor English to primary and early high school students. Throughout my schooling, I always had a passion for English and in my senior high school years, I achieved high results in Advanced and Extension English. I’d love to share my knowledge and instil students with a love of learning. I strongly believe it is important to work out a student’s learning style and teach with that in mind, as well as finding the aspects of the subject that spark the student’s curiosity and interest. I’m driven to employ teaching strategies that provide the relevant information in a supportive, caring and non-judgemental environment. This allows students to achieve their goals and gain confidence in their subject.
