Hi there, my name is Bron and I am thrilled to be offering my services as a tutor. I work full time in a country high school in the Senior Prep Room for Year 11 and Year 12 students as a pre-service teacher and administration officer. This gives me great exposure to student/teacher needs and current HSC requirements. A big part of my working day is spent helping teenagers understand and complete their assessment tasks and prepare for their exams. I regularly put together individual study plans and I know that they work because I am using my own study plan at Charles Sturt University. I am in my fourth year at Uni and have a Bachelor of Arts Degree. I hope to complete my English Secondary Teaching Degree in the next 18 months. One of the greatest lessons I have learned both in life and from the ‘Academic world’, is to break the big mountains down; keep it simple; build from basics and believe in yourself. Complicated and wordy assessment questions and preparation for HSC can at times seem overwhelming and intimidating but they are really just wonderful pools of knowledge and achievement waiting to meet you. I feel very privileged to be part of guiding and witnessing that connection for young people.

Hello, my name is Sophie. I am 28 years of age and originally from the UK. I completed a Honours Degree in Nursing in 2012 and have since been working as a Registered Nurse. Prior to this, I worked in America for a number of months, caring and assisting individuals, of all ages, with physical and psychological disabilities. Earlier this year, I decided to fulfill a lifelong ambition of mine and further my career by commencing a Paramedic Degree. Now that I am coming to the end of this, I would like to share my passion for learning, education and most importantly, motivation with other individuals. While we may not all share the same dedication towards study as I did, I believe teaching should be suited to the needs of each and every individual. Education should be fun, creative and engaging, allowing us all, the opportunity to reach our full potential.

As a teacher, I am confident and experienced. I can help you in two significant ways: feel articulate with my areas of expertise, and teach you how to get the grades you want in those subjects. I want you to understand the subject material and to clearly show that understanding. I know how confusing some concepts can be and how to untangle them for students. I also know how frustrating it can feel to understand material but not be able to translate the understanding into good grades. I can do this because I went to University for 7 years and have been teaching for 5. I first received an arts degree before becoming a teacher. And I love teaching. After working in schools in Japan, Canada and Australia I know how to have students experience the “ah ha” moment of comprehension and clarity. I have helped develop thousands of students with their communication skills. And I have helped an equal number of students in opening up new perspectives on the social forces that govern their lives. I enjoy:
Being an extra on the show “Neighbours”

My name is Dean Tuckwell and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Applied Science (Parks, Recreation and Heritage). With this I hope to one day work with endangered animal and plant species throughout Australian National Parks, and potentially even some overseas parks! I love to play sports, play music and most of all take photos. I have a photography website and hope one day to incorporate my photography with my work in the endangered wildlife field. Throughout high school I enjoyed science most of all, and this is reflected in my tertiary studies. Upon leaving high school I enrolled into a Bachelor of Medical Science (Anatomy and Physiology) at UWS, where I completed a year before deciding it wasn’t for me. I then transferred into a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) at CSU, also completing a year before deciding to move on. Having always had a passion for computers, I transferred to a Bachelor of Computer Science with CSU, but realising this would mean I would be cooped up in a office for the majority of my life I found my current course, the Bachelor of Applied Science (Parks, Recreation and Heritage), and after six months have not looked back!

I am passionate about education, having a positive influence and helping young individuals achieve their full potential. I recently graduated high school in 2018, achieving an ATAR of 92.50. As a recent high school graduate, I understand that the work load can be tough, but I also know that where effort and hard work is given, great opportunities arise. I hope to encourage others to enjoy and make the most of learning like I do. When I am not studying I love going to the beach, exploring in nature, reading and cooking.

Hi, my name is Kyle Bray, I am a 25 year old male living in Port Macquarie. I complete my bachelor of Secondary Education/Health and Physical Education in 2016, at The University of Newcastle. I have worked at Muswellbrook High School as a full time PDHPE teacher for the past two years and have relocated back to my hometown of Port Macquarie, to continue teaching as a casual at schools in the Hastings. I have joined the Student Tutor Network with a goal to enable all students to fulfil their full academic potential, by helping them with any problems they may have at school with certain subjects or by helping develop effective and efficient study methods.
Outside of teaching I enjoy playing a variety of sports including; AFL, cricket and basketball. I love sport as it has made me lifelong friends, the trust and mateship you gain by playing together as a team is one of the greatest benefits of participating in team sports.

Hi! My name is Georgia Rae and I have just completed my first degree; a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Modern History and a minor in Education and Criminology at Macquarie University, Sydney. I plan to undertake further study in the future in the Psychology/Criminal Justice field. I have always found teaching to be one of my strong suits while growing up, and I believe that tutoring will allow me to encourage and inspire my students. During year 11 and 12, I became incredibly passionate about Modern History due to having a fantastic teacher, and as a result of this, I aim to inspire my students to love learning and to be passionate about their interests. Throughout my studies, I worked in two schools where I gained in depth
experience teaching both primary and secondary students and this was where my enthusiasm for teaching truly began. I also developed my own strategies to help foster effective learning and study techniques. I believe that an effective education is the most powerful tool a person can have and being able to help nurture and motivate a student’s learning journey is something I value very much.
