Hi everyone! My name is Jerone and I was born and grew up in Darwin in the Northern Territory. I then moved to Brisbane in 2012 for boarding school, graduated in 2014, and began university the following year. During high school my favourite subjects included English, Modern History, Philosophy, and Legal Studies. I’m currently in my 4th year of a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) through the Queensland University of Technology. I decided to complete the last stretch of my degree online with QUT rather than transferring universities after recently moving down to Sydney. I enjoy all things sports and especially the super rugby, NRL and NBA. In my spare time when I’m not working or studying I like to relax, play videogames, watch TV, and I’m also involved with club rugby. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your academic goals!

Hi, my name is Caitlyn Jurd and I am 18 years old. I completed my HSC last year at Cambridge Park High, where i was also elected into the school leadership team as the role of prefect. Throughout my high school experience, I participated in programs to assist other students in their studies, in a variety of year groups, whether it was one-on-one or group meetings. After completing my HSC, i was shocked to receive an early offer into my desired course and campus followed by multiple other offers. I am now in my first year of university, studying my bachelor of arts, pathway to teaching (primary) at Western Sydney university. I have always had a passion for learning and teaching, and believe that every individual has an area that they excel in and believe that other areas can also be excelled by figuring out their learning styles.

Hi! I’m Jerri Wang and I completed my Higher School Certificate at Hornsby Girls High School with an All Rounders by achieving Band 6’s in all my subjects (Adv. English, Adv. Math, Economics, Business Studies and Visual Arts). During school, I’ve always prioritised achieving consistent results but I’ve also valued having a balanced life, especially during the final HSC years, by being active in school as a Prefect, sports, friends and various extracurricular activities. Being a very recent graduate, I can understand the challenges and struggles in school so my goal is to help any students with all the fresh knowledge and materials I have to help you reach your best. My previous experiences in mentoring younger students has also taught me the importance of utilising different learning styles and teaching methods in finding a way that maximises your learning which I aim to bring. However, I strongly believe that achieving academic success can only be done when you enjoy what you do and learn as through having the right support which I hope to provide by offering the best all rounded learning experience I can!

Hi! My name is Maitri. I am currently pursuing Bachelor of Actuarial Studies in Macquarie University. I graduated from high school in 2017 from India and came to Australia to pursue my course in an overseas university. I have always been a diligent student and excel in subjects like mathematics and science. I decided to pursue actuarial studies as it is all about mathematics and statistics; the subjects I have always found enthralling. Along with that, I am passionate about teaching. I have always been helping my fellow classmates in their studies and tutored my juniors during Year 11 and Year12. I believe tutoring is a very rewarding profession. I am able to help a student learn and grow. It gives me a great sense of satisfaction that my student is excelling at a subject I teach. It is not just about providing knowledge, as a tutor I am also able to learn from my students. My strengths as a tutor are focusing on the fundamentals and being empathetic towards the student, detailing of the concept, explaining at a medium pace, interacting in between the sessions and asking questions.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Education - Primary and a Bachelor of Arts - Psychology at Macquarie University. I offer a wide range of subjects that I am confident and enjoy teaching in. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and through tutoring, I am able to utilise the skills I’ve learnt and practised now instead of later. I believe that each student is unique and creating individualised lesson plans when teaching is the most useful and efficient way to cater to the students’ needs. Learning new things can be difficult because it takes time. However, I also believe that giving the students an environment in which they can succeed in, makes it more enjoyable. I want to give my students the opportunities to achieve their best in their academic endeavours.

Hello hello! I'm Vaneeta and I'm currently studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a degree of Speech, Hearing and Language Sciences over at Macquarie University. A sweet dream of mine to fulfil would be working in Speech Therapy with kids full-time. I genuinely enjoy teaching and helping others, because I find it fulfilling to see others proud of the hard work they put in! When teaching anyone, being patient and caring is important so they that they have it in them to accomplish anything they want. When I spent time as a teacher’s assistant at my local primary school, it was extremely rewarding to see children’s enthusiasm and pride in their work, even if they faced a couple of bumps getting there. Learning should never be boring or dull, I like to keep things interesting. In my free time, I love to relax and read a good book or spend quality time with friends and family.

Hello, my name is Zane, I'm currently studying Bachelor of Data Science at the University of New South Wales. During Year 12, I studied Advanced English, Extension 2 Mathematics, Physics, Chinese in Context and Music 1. I was no more than an ordinary student like everyone else in their last year of high school, however, I had ambitions, I had goals, which allowed me to finally achieve an ATAR of 98.35, and that is what I am here to do. I am here as a tutor to inspire students regardless of their results or goals in life to do better, to achieve more. I believe it is essential for as a tutor, as a mentor to understand what the students are lacking and what the students really need, and thereby improve upon it. Aside from my academic achievements, I am also a well-skilled musician and pianist, being certified of LmusA in Piano and being able to produce my own music, I was successful in achieving a perfect score in music performance during trials and was nominated for music 1 encore during HSC. Therefore these achievements are my evidence of proving my diligence and my capabilities in helping my future students to improve.

Hi, my name is Bianca and I am a scientist and science is my passion. I didn't always love science, I struggled early in school with it and found it a hard and frustrating subject. In year 11 I had the most amazing science teacher, he taught me how to study science and how to understand it. Thanks to him, I fell completely in love with everything science related and ended up topping my class in Biology. I went on to do a Bachelor's of Science (Advanced) at the University of Sydney where I studied biology, chemistry and biochemistry. I loved every moment of my studies and I graduated with a high distinction average. Since then I have been working as a scientist studying cancer biology. Recently I decided to undertake to a masters in epidemiology which I am currently studying. It's my goal to complete these studies and then undertake a PhD in a similar field.
I love talking and teaching people about science. What I think is challenging about science is that it's a different way of thinking. I want to pass along all the important tips that helped me originally when I first had issues and help others gain confidence. More than that I would love to pass along my passion and love for the subject.

As an educator of more than 25 years, I have an extensive background and experience in academic support, in both school settings and as a private tutor. I have a passion for literacy instruction across curriculum areas and have created and developed literacy resources for use within secondary school classrooms (for both students and teachers), as well as in individualized or small group programs where necessary and appropriate. I have considerable experience in developing and implementing a differentiated curriculum in the classroom and beyond. I believe I have a strength in developing effective working partnerships with students, parents, teachers and external providers, in the interests of achieving success in learning. I look forward to joining the Student Tutors community of learners.

My name is Yasin (Yuh-sin) and I currently study a Bachelor of Laws with a Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University. I'm hoping to get into family law once I graduate. In high school I studied Advanced English, Maths Ext. 1, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering Studies, and Legal Studies. While I do not have formal tutoring experience, I found myself explaining the majority of the core concepts of the math syllabus to my peers and going through any problems they had. I am an outgoing person who does not have any trouble engaging people who are either willing or not willing to learn and this was evident in my role as what was essentially a maths tutor for my classmates.
I enjoy most outdoor/physical activities such as rock-climbing and hiking. I attend the Australian Air Force Cadets, a program intended to provide young adults and children with the experience necessary for a smooth transition into the Australian Defence Force. While I do not plan to pursue this path, the AAFC provides me with skills, training, and experience in team leadership, teaching, working with others, and following procedures in a pseudo-workplace.

Hi, my name is Chloe and I’m currently studying Speech Pathology at university. I completed my HSC in 2015 with good marks in both English and Maths. I’ve always enjoyed helping others learn, and find that I’m often able to explain concepts in a way that others can understand. I’m patient and enthusiastic, and I’m able to find ways to make boring concepts fun, especially for younger children. Although I was a ‘bright’ kid, I never found studying or working easy so I had to teach myself how to push through that and reach my potential. Having done this myself, I think I’ll be able to help others do the same thing. Part of my role as a speech pathologist involves motivating others to learn and complete difficult activities, and I’m looking forward to taking this one step further as I tutor other students.
My hobbies include reading, music (I play multiple instruments), writing, and archery. I’ve previously worked as a disability support worker, so I have experience working with a range of different people, and I’ve also worked as a peer mentor providing support for new university students trying to manage and organise their workload.
My name is Munazzah Nasir and I have just completed post-graduation studies in Journalism and Communications at the University of New South Wales. My hobbies include reading and writing stories. For me observations are the key to great ideas and concepts.
For the last year I have worked as a volunteer education coordinator for K-6 at a childcare center. I’ve been helping students with homework, preparing worksheets to clarify basic maths and English and assisting them in the development of observation skills. Conceptual techniques become clear when applied or related to real life examples, keeping in mind the age and interests of the learner.
