I am currently studying at the University of Wollongong, completing a Bachelor of Medical Biotechnology [Honours] [Dean's Scholar]. This degree has advanced my knowledge particularly in the fields of biology and chemistry, and I aspire to become a Research Scientist. I have been tutoring for two years in various roles, including for the Wollongong University and the Department of Education. While tutoring for these two departments I have had to maintain professionalism, organisational skills, and the ability to adapt to different situations. Through this, I have gained experience working with Primary and High School Students. I have an ever-increasing passion for Biology and Chemistry, however, I am also willing to help students progress in other areas of study too. Throughout High School, I excelled at my chosen subjects and I was fortunate enough to receive a high ATAR. Students that I have tutored have described me as kind, patient, passionate, and helpful. While it is important to keep up with school work, I believe it is equally important that students enjoy the search for knowledge.

I am a casual primary school teacher. I have been travelling for the last two years, but always fall back into my passion for working with children. Outside of work I enjoy going to aerials (silks, trapeze, lyra) and dance classes, I enjoy bike riding, swimming, snowboarding, walking, painting, reading and learning. I have wanted to be a teacher since I left primary school and I have loved every minute of it. I have also been a private tutor and a gymnastics coach. I have lived in Canada for the last two years to snowboard during winter and hike to amazing lakes and glaciers in summer. I have also recently returned from backpacking through Central America which was a confronting experience. I am excited to be apart of a tutoring company that will further my skills as a teacher and enrich my passion for teaching and learning.

Hi, my name is Rhys Lorenc, and I’m currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts [Dean’s Scholar] at the University of Wollongong – majoring in Creative Writing and Japanese. I graduated Smiths Hill High School in 2018, achieving an ATAR of 94.65 and studying four units of English, Society and Culture, Japanese Continuers and Software Design and Development. From these experiences, I’ve become a focussed, flexible worker, and I’ve come to understand that every student learns differently. As such, I’m willing to adapt myself to the situation or needs of any student under my tutelage. I’ve had a passion for education – both as student and teacher – since I was little, and my goal is to foster that same passion for learning in those that I teach. My name is Michael and I love to learn which is why I'm currently pursuing a bachelor of Geography at the University of Wollongong. After completing my HSC in 2014, I took a gap year to work and travel in Europe for 7 months. Learning about the history and culture of many countries inspired me to continue learning at university upon my arrival back in Australia. Since then I have completed a Diploma of Liberal Arts, which is a focused study on literature, history, philosophy and theology. I'm now beginning a bachelor of geography as I'm very passionate about the environment and want to become involved in its conservation. This passion probably explains why I have many plants in my house that I enjoy taking care of.
Since leaving school and being introduced to the world, my desire to learn has only grown. Learning is really enriching for me and as a result helping others learn something new is equally special. I find this becomes evident when my two younger sisters come to me with high school assignments and I get quite excited about helping them. So I'm hoping that I can pass on the desire to learn wherever I go and to anyone I meet.

My name is Laura and I'm really passionate about trying to help people succeed in their academic pursuits, or even just get through a subject. I have just completed the HSC in three unit Maths, Geography, Physics, advanced English and Chinese Continuers and achieved what was beyond my expectations. Now I am studying engineering at university.
I've always loved Science subjects, HSIE and Maths, but I also went quite well in English. I love explaining concepts in new ways and trying to make learning much more fun and interactive. I believe that the school system can sometimes leave out students who learn in different ways or have fallen behind in a subject, so I really want to help those students catch up or understand concepts. Being a student who has needed help in the past, I know what makes a good teacher and what makes a bad one, and I hope to use this to be a really great tutor. I'm really looking forward to meeting you and hopefully helping to work through any issues you may be struggling with.
